New Construction - Blaylock Residence

TYPE OF PROJECT: New Construction - Addition OWNER:
RESIDENCE: 1950s home with addition of master bedroom, bath, separate lavatory and laundy room on first floor; OWNER:Couple of retirement age

PURPOSE OF PROJECT / PROBLEM: A master bedroom suite that was handicapped accessible, providing easy one-level retirement living.

SOLUTION: Designed and completed all interior elements of addition including color planning, choosing materials (cabinets, hardware, floor covering, lighting and accents); selected and placed accessories. Incorporated elements to ensure a fully functional space for an older couple to live independently in the future, including an open shower, lever-style door handles, organizational and clutter-reducing features such as locating electrical outlets inside of cabinets.

THEME: Beauty with function: warm monochromatic color tones with an open and airy feel illustrated by glass block shower; cottage influences in cabinetry and hardware; fully handicapped accessible.
